General Candle Questions

What type of wax do you use in your candles?

We use a premium coconut and soy wax blend (cocosoy) that provides a clean, even burn with excellent scent throw. Soy wax is a natural and renewable resource, making it a great choice for those who prefer a more sustainable option. It also burns more slowly than paraffin, giving you a longer-lasting candle.

We also include a burn enhancer which regulates the hot and cold throw of the fragrance, and a stabiliser, which helps protect the wax against light and heat degradation.

How long do your candles burn?

Burn time depends on the size of the candle, but here’s a general guide:

  • Luxe Bowl – Approx. X hours
  • Black/White Gloss Jars – Approx. X hours
  • 6oz Tins – Approx. X hours
  • 8oz Tins – Approx. X hours

To maximise burn time, make sure to trim your wick before each use, allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges on the first burn, and follow all the instructions on your Candle Care card. Every candle has a warning/safety sticker adhered to the bottom of the vessel, including best practice information.

Are your candles safe for people with allergies or sensitivities?

We carefully select our ingredients, but fragrance sensitivities can vary from person to person. If you’re sensitive to scents, we offer a Fragrance Free Luxe Bowl designed purely for aesthetics and mood without any added fragrance. If you have specific concerns, feel free to contact us before placing an order. If you would like any of our other candles in a fragrance free version, please let us know and we’ll be happy to assist. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions page for more information.

Why do some candles tunnel, and how can I fix it?

Tunneling happens when a candle burns down the middle, leaving wax along the sides. This is usually caused by not burning the candle long enough on the first use. To prevent tunneling, allow the candle to burn until the wax pool reaches the edges (this can take 1-4 hours depending on the candle size/diameter).

If tunneling has already happened, you can try the foil method:

  • Carefully wrap a strip of aluminium foil around the top rim of the jar, leaving an opening in the centre for the flame.
  • Light the candle and let it burn for about an hour – the foil will help reflect heat, melting the leftover wax on the sides.
  • Safety note: Never let the foil touch the flame, and be cautious when handling it, as it may become warm. Remove the foil carefully once the wax has levelled out.

How do I get the best scent throw from my candle?

For the best fragrance experience:

  • Depending on the size, burn the candle in a smaller, enclosed space for a stronger scent throw.
  • Allow the wax to fully pool (reach the edges of the vessel) to release more fragrance into the air.
  • Keep your wick trimmed to around 5mm to ensure a steady burn without excess smoke.

If you prefer a subtle scent, try placing the candle in a well-ventilated area where the fragrance will gently disperse.

Can I use my candles and melts straight away?

If they’ve had sufficient curing time, yes. If you are time pressed and want your products sent to you before they’re fully ready, please understand that burning them early may reduce the scent throw and overall performance. Natural waxes need time to cure properly. Should you ask for your products to be sent before I feel they’ve had enough curing time, I will include a note with the recommended date to start using them.

How do I store my candle to keep it in the best condition?

To keep your candle in the best condition when it’s not in use:

  • Keep it away from direct sunlight and heat – Excess heat can cause the wax to soften or sweat, which may affect the scent and appearance. ‘Sweating’ look like little droplets on the top of the candle and is normal with natural waxes when exposed to warmer temperatures.
  • Store it with the lid on (if it has one) – This helps prevent dust from collecting on the wax and preserves the fragrance. If your candle does not come with a lid, a box will do.
  • Avoid humid areas – High humidity can sometimes cause frosting (a natural effect on soy wax) or impact the wick. Frosting, in general, has negligible effect on the burn.
  • Store upright – Keeping your candle level helps ensure an even burn when you light it next.

With proper storage, your candle will stay fresh and ready to enjoy whenever you need it!

Business & Ordering Questions

Do you have any candles available now?

Yes. However, I generally make all candles to order, so the sooner you let me know what you want, the sooner I can get it made and start the curing process. With the more popular fragrances, I’ll often make an extra few when someone places an order, so I may have some ready to send to you straight away! I always have plenty of wax melts ready to go!

Do you offer wholesale pricing or custom orders?

Yes, we offer wholesale pricing for retailers and also provide custom branding options for businesses looking for private-label candles. If you’re interested in stocking our candles, please visit our Wholesale Enquiry Page or get in touch with us directly.

Do you offer local pickup or delivery?

At the moment, we primarily offer shipping across Australia. However, if you’re local (within 30 mins drive from Kyabram) and would like to arrange collection or delivery, our delivery fees are determined by location. There is no charge to collect orders from our location.

For specific details, please check my Shipping Policy.

How much is shipping?

I use Australia Post parcel post satchels and boxes for all postal orders. Shipping is a flat rate of $15 on most orders. Express Post is $4 extra. For the best value, consider multiple items as a package. Where orders are quite large or require multiple packages, I will contact you to discuss any additional shipping costs.

How long will shipping take?

Wax and creams don’t do too well in extreme hot or cold weather, so I usually post orders on the cooler days of the week, or on Mondays and Tuesdays. This helps prevent parcels from sitting in warehouses over weekends and reduces time in transit. I can’t guarantee shipping times, so please allow at least a week from the date your order is posted. During prolonged high temperatures, I may delay shipping to minimise the risk of damage in transit.

Do you gift wrap?

Yes, I can gift wrap most items for local delivery or collection. You can select this as an option on the product pages where it’s applicable. Please keep in mind that wrapping may get damaged in the postage process, so consider if this is something you’d like us to do when posting articles through the mail, or if you’d prefer to do it yourself.

Do you do packages?

Yes! I can create customised packages and gift hampers for you. Whether you’d like a range of items—like candles, tea lights, melts, and a melt warmer—or a selection of products such as bath soak, foot scrub, body butter, and a reed diffuser, I can bundle them into a set. Just ask!

Do you do refunds or returns?

Information is provided on my terms and conditions page here: Returns Policy.
